Roof Top Solar is not just an investment in your home, but also in the planet''s future
View DetailsDelhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday launched the 'Delhi Solar Portal' to make rooftop solar installations accessible and convenient for Delhiites. The initiative is in line with the Delhi Solar Energy Policy, aiming to achieve a cumulative rooftop solar capacity of 750 MW by 2027.
Delhi launched its solar policy in 2016, and in 2023, introduced an updated solar roadmap with the goal of achieving 6,000 MW of installed capacity by 2025. Both policies promote solar adoption across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors through capital subsidies, generation-based incentives, and simplified net metering.
The new policy aims to achieve 4.5 GW of solar capacity by March 2027. The policy also provides multiple initiatives: A capital subsidy of up to ₹10,000 per consumer in addition to the central solar subsidy.
Panels can be installed over the roofs of residential buildings, government offices, hospitals, commercial spaces, and even industrial units to not only cut down on monthly electricity expenditure and shrink carbon footprint but also reduce the burden on electricity grids. 1.
