Being the largest commercial natural gas storage company in Hungary, Hungarian Gas Storage Ltd operates, maintains and continuously develops four underground gas storage facilities, with a total gas storage capacity of 4.43 billion m 3 and a total daily withdrawal capacity of 49.8 million m 3.
With funds obtained through a previous program, transmission system operator MAVIR is already building the country's largest energy storage system – a 20 MW project in Szolnok, central Hungary, the ministry said. It added that several projects with even bigger capacity will be installed under the tender concluded a few days ago.
