View DetailsKilowatt per rack (kW/rack) is the power assigned to a server rack in a data center. It is measured in kilowatts (kW) and represents the total power needed for all IT equipment in that rack. Colocation providers offer different power levels: Power density depends on server type, workload, and cooling efficiency.
Our calculator does it for you. Simply choose one of our data center rack hosting options or enter your current colocation costs, fill the power input and the price of electricity per kWh. The result will be the total monthly cost associated with the rack or server space rental, connectivity and power consumption.
Example: A rack using 2000W running 24/7 (2000 ÷ 1000) × (24 × 365) = 17,520 kWh/year Check your electricity bill or contact your utility provider to find out the cost of electricity per kWh. This rate may vary depending on factors such as location, time of day, and your agreement with the utility provider.
