BEIJING, Jan. 8 -- China is taking multipronged measures to ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers during the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush, according to a press conference held on Wednesday.
It is expected that during this year's Spring Festival travel period, the railway passenger volume will exceed 510 million, with an average of 12.75 million people per day, representing a 5.5 percent year-on-year increase. China Railway will increase passenger transport capacity for the travel rush.
